EDCS power and energy systems are deployed on systems ranging from small 96 channel branch power monitoring systems, to one of our nations largest hydro electric dams.

RIGHT:

The United States Bureau of Reclamation required an updated data logging, monitoring and alarm system for Glen Canyon Dam.  This facility is one of our Nation's top 5 most critical infrastructure sites.  EDCS designed and installed a system to monitor the electrical and mechanical aspects of the plant.   Because these generators were 1960's design we were required to interface to 10 Ohm Copper RTD's for critical temperature monitoring.

Some of the mechanical monitoring points include:
Stator Temps (6 points on each unit)
Thrust Bearing Temp (Twice on each unit)
Upper Guide Bearing Temp
Lower Guide Bearing Temp
Cooling Air Temp
Turbine Temp
These points are monitored 10 times per second and alarms are generated based on deviations from pre determined thresholds.  Electrical performance is also measured and recorded (see below).

Below operators can plot the change in Stator Temperature as the load in MW is increased or decreased.
